The Walter & Elise Haas Fund has a mission "to help build a healthy, just, and vibrant society in which people feel connected to and responsible for their community." [1] It was founded in 1952 by Walter A. Haas, Sr. and his wife, Elise Stern Haas "an enduring expression of their philanthropic commitment to San Francisco." [2]
