Baron Lambert
Baron Léon Lambert (born in Brussel Eterbeek 2 july 1928, died in Brussel Anderlecht 29 may 1987) was a prominent banker and art collector.[1]

Background
Son of baron Henri Lambert and Johanna von Reininghaus. From 1941 to 1945 he went to the Canterbury School in New Milford Connecticut.[citation needed] After that he studied at Yale University and Oxford University. He finished his studies in Institut des hautes études économiques et commerciales in Genève.[citation needed] In 1949, he became the chairman of his own bank : the Banque Lambert of Brussel.[citation needed] At this time, the banque Lambert was a small private bank. In less than 10 years, the baron Léon Lambert and his brother Philippe took the bank in the 4th ranking of Belgium.[citation needed] In 1975 after the bank merged with the Banque de Bruxelles, it becomes the second largest bank in Belgium: Banque Bruxelles Lambert (BBL).[citation needed]
